  • Comment On top of the "Montanakopf" (Matona head), a prominent spur advancing from the northeast toward the III, is located about 0.2 km in the east of the main summit, and separated from it by a hollow, is an elevated plateau, which has artificial facilities. The approximately 30 x 30 m large area is bounded to the west by a well recognizable, excessive rockfall. Similar wall remnants can be seen in places on the north and east sides. The south protects a few meters of precipitous rock the Bronze Age refuge fort ("Fliehburg"). About 400 m away from the rear plateau of the Rappenkopf (settlement of the Middle Bronze Age of the inner-alpine bronze culture (1600 / 1500-1300 / 1200 BC)), in another small exploration, again rich ceramic material and a post-formation could be excavated. However, the potsherds found here point to a somewhat later horizon, as they date to the Late Bronze Age and some fragments even into the early Iron Age.
