Comment | A Bronze Age settlement site was discovered north of the "Romedi-Kirchleins" and northeast of the "Thaurer Schlößls". It is located between two valley incisions (the "Altenburgbach" east and the "Klamm-" or "Langebach" west) a small, densely wooded ridge. On the hill are some fallen rhizomes, which stem from the blast of an avalanche a few years ago. In the rhizomes, but also on other superficial parts of the hill, there were several ceramic fragments, animal bones and a larger fragment of a pierced limestone of indefinite use. The finds may be assigned to an advanced section of the Bronze Age. Immediately to the north of this site, another hill with strongly overgrown, mortared remains of the wall is clearly separated by a small incision. Small finds were not made on the hill, which is known to locals as "Altenburg". |
