Description | The market town of Vomp, situated in the lower Inn valley about 30 km east of Innsbruck, covers an area of 18261 km². It extends from the Inn in the south to the north over the Karwendel mountains with the nature park "Alpenpark Karwendel" to the German state border. The well researched funerary site "Vomp-Fichter Au" is located in the north of Schwaz at the Inntal motorway. Further interesting sights are castle Sigmundslust and the natural monument "Großer Ahornboden" with its more than 500-year-old maple trees is an impressive sight, especially in the autumn when the leaves are painted. |
